Enhancing Sustainable Water Supply for EACOP Facilities in Mubende

Enviromark Consult (U) Ltd successfully delivered Environmental and Social Risk Assessment and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) services for the proposed extension of reliable water supply systems to EACOP facilities in Mubende District, under the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC).

The project, implemented over a seven-month period from November 2022 to May 2023, aimed to support the development of critical water infrastructure—including boreholes, reservoirs, and pipeline networks—to ensure consistent and sustainable water supply to key project sites.

Our multidisciplinary team of 14 experts undertook comprehensive environmental and social assessments to identify potential risks and develop practical mitigation strategies. This included detailed baseline studies, stakeholder engagement, and analysis of environmental, social, and health considerations to ensure full compliance with national regulations and international standards.

A key component of the assignment was the development and implementation of a Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), ensuring fair, transparent, and sustainable resettlement processes for affected communities. The team conducted socio-economic surveys, property valuations, and community consultations, while also designing grievance redress mechanisms and monitoring frameworks to support effective project implementation.

Through this assignment, Enviromark demonstrated its capacity to deliver integrated, high-quality consultancy services that balance infrastructure development with environmental protection and social responsibility—supporting sustainable outcomes for both clients and communities.
