Strengthening Urban Road Infrastructure in Kabale Municipality

Enviromark Consult (U) Ltd successfully undertook the development and implementation of a Contractor’s Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) for road rehabilitation projects in Kabale Municipality, commissioned by Kabale Municipal Council under the USMID – AF Infrastructure Program.

Implemented between May and September 2021, the project focused on the rehabilitation and upgrading of key urban roads—Rushoroza, Bwankosya, and Bushekwire—to improve mobility and support local economic development. As part of this initiative, Enviromark ensured that all construction activities were carried out in compliance with environmental, social, health, and safety standards.

Our team developed a comprehensive ESMP framework, including environmental and social monitoring plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies. The assignment also involved defining stakeholder roles, designing management plans for waste, pollution, biodiversity, and safety, and conducting capacity-building sessions to support effective implementation.

Through this project, Enviromark demonstrated its ability to integrate environmental and social safeguards into infrastructure development—ensuring sustainable, compliant, and community-conscious project execution.
